Created from lived experience, curiosity and a determination to understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

Nonspeaking Autism began with May and her son James, who has nonspeaking autism.

Trying to understand James's communication, sensory differences, behaviour and nervous system led May deeper into the research — and to creating the clear visual resources you see here today.

What began as one parent's search for understanding has grown into a free resource library created to help other families look beyond what can be seen and explore what may be happening underneath.
